The August visa bulletin reflects important movement in several preference classifications. EB-1 Priority Workers for All Chargeability areas, El Salvador/Guatemala/Honduras, Mexico, Philippines and Vietnam retrogresses almost two years to July 1, 2016. EB-1 China also retrogresses nearly a year to July 1, 2016, while EB-1 India has no movement and holds at January 1, 2015. EB-2 “Members of the Professions Holding Advanced Degrees or Persons of Exceptional Ability” for All Chargeability areas, El Salvador/Guatemala/Honduras, Mexico, Philippines, and Vietnam and China progress modestly to January 1, 2017, while EB-2 India continues its very slow movement by advancing 8 days to May 2, 2009. EB-3 “Professionals/Skilled Workers” for All Chargeability areas, El Salvador/Guatemala/Honduras, Mexico, Philippines, and Vietnam and China move to July 1, 2016. EB-3 India retrogresses three years to January 1, 2006.
The DOS advises that demand for employment-based adjustment of status applicants has continued its significant increase so this corrective action will likely hold until the new fiscal year begins in October 2019.
